Impressive England Win Shortens Test Match Odds
Monday 17 March 2008 at 08:52 England bounced back from their disappointing first test display against New Zealand to claim an impressive 126-run victory in Wellington in the second match of the series.
The tourists, who dropped experienced bowlers Matthew Hoggard and Steve Harmison in favour of Stuart Broad and James Anderson, are now the 8/5 favourites to win the series with Coral, while the Kiwis are priced at 3/1 with Bet Chronicle.
And in the wake of the series saving victory, England captain Michael Vaughan defended the decision to make crucial changes to the side.
"We made two tough decisions at the start and those were proved to be right," he told the BBC.
"It was exciting being out there with a young set of bowlers who have a decent amount of pace and created chances."
Vaughn added: "Jimmy Anderson in the first innings was outstanding and I thought Stuart Broad's spell on Sunday afternoon was very impressive for a 21-year-old."
The third and decisive test begins this Friday (March 17th).
