Griffin Still Confident About Promotion
Wednesday 09 April 2008 at 16:20 Andy Griffin is still sure that Stoke City will be promoted to the Premier League despite their recent slump in form.
One win in their last eight games has seen bookmakers lose confidence with the Potters and their odds of promotion from the Championship have drifted over the last fortnight to 11/8 with bet365.
Club captain Griffin spoke to BBC Radio Stoke, saying: "With hard work, endeavour, belief and passion there's no reason we can't win the league or finish second."
He emphasised the need for the team to remain positive and keep believing.
Despite only picking up seven points from a possible 24, Stoke are only a point off the top of the Championship, and they are hoping to turn the tide with an away trip to struggling Coventry on Saturday.
"We're all deflated after the defeat to Crystal Palace, but we can't feel sorry for ourselves because on Saturday we have to go out and get the three points," he added.
West Brom are still strong favourites at 1/3 with skybet to win promotion and be playing Premiership football next season.
