Ferguson Looks Ahead To Barcelona
Thursday 10 April 2008 at 16:01 Alex Ferguson is looking forward to playing Barcelona in the Champions League semi-finals.
After his side got past Roma last night, Manchester United are now favourites to lift the Champions League trophy, with odds coming in to 7/4 with Paddy Power.
Carlos Tevez scored the only goal at Old Trafford in the second leg after Daniele De Rossi blasted a penalty over the bar to give the Italians a chance of getting back into the tie.
Ferguson rested stars Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney, and said: "Having a 2-0 lead against Roma and playing at Old Trafford gave me encouragement and confidence to rest some players.
"We trust all of our squad because they are good players and they can play in any type of game."
Last night's victory was United's 11th straight win at home in the Champions League, which is a new record for the competition.
Chelsea are second favourites for the trophy after beating Fenerbache and are priced at 3/1 with 888sport to win the final in Moscow in May, if they can overcome an all-English semi-final with Liverpool.
