Walter Smith Hopes To Continue Old Firm Record
Wednesday 16 April 2008 at 11:30 Rangers enter tonight's Old Firm game hoping to extend their dominance over their Glasgow rivals.
Since Walter Smith returned to Rangers last January he has yet to concede a point or a goal against Celtic, and his side are priced at 2/1 with betdirect to record another victory at Parkhead.
The Rangers manager told the Daily Record he believes Celtic are equal to any team his side has faced during their European exploits this season.
He said: "With the exception of Barcelona and maybe Werder Bremen, who I thought were excellent, Celtic are as good as any of the other sides.
"So we have to turn in a performance equal to, if not better than anything we have done in Europe if we want to achieve something."
Smith has no new injury worries in his preparations, but Celtic will be without Paul Hartley and Scott Brown, who is still serving a suspension.
Celtic desperately need a victory to close the four-point gap Rangers have at the top of the Scottish Premier League and have odds of 5/4 with bet365 to get the win.
