Hendy Faces First Round Crucible Exit
Monday 21 April 2008 at 11:49 Stephen Hendry is facing a first-round exit from snooker's World Championships.
The seven-time champion trails rising star Mark Allen 6-3 after the opening session of their first-round match.
His odds are out to 3/1 with SportingBet to win the match when it resumes on Monday afternoon.
Allen needs only four more frames for victory and to claim his second victory of the season over Hendry.
The youngster lost the first frame but then won four in a row to open up a lead over the vastly experienced Scotsman. The two then exchanged frames to give Allen a 6-3 overnight lead.
Hendry has not won a ranking title since 2005, but came back from a similar position against Dave Harold at the same stage of the competition 12 months ago.
The 22-year-old Allen is priced at 1/4 with Centrebet to win and progress to the second round.
