Immelman Returns At EDS Byron Nelson Championship
Tuesday 22 April 2008 at 11:43 Trevor Immelman will be making his first PGA Tour start since winning the Masters at the EDS Byron Nelson Championship this week.
The South African heads to Las Colinas as second-favourite at 18/1 with bet365 after his triumph at Augusta two weeks ago.
It is the first EDS Byron Nelson Championship since the tournament's namesake passed away and the TPC Four Seasons course has undergone a major redesign.
D A Weibring, a former PGA player who was a consultant on the new design, toldPGATour.com: "In redesigning the course, our goal was to honour the legacy of Byron Nelson.
"We created a cleaner, more defined course that incorporates traditional tee, bunker and green elements throughout. Players will be faced with more shot options from tee to green, creating additional drama for spectators and TV viewers."
This will be Immelman's third appearance in the tournament, having tied for 40th on his debut in 2005 and finishing runner-up by one stroke to Brett Wetterich in 2006.
He currently stands 14th in the FedEx Cup standings having earned over $1.5 million already this year.
Adam Scott is the favourite for this week's tournament with odds of 12/1 with Paddy Power.
