Wolves Still In Play-off Contention
Wednesday 23 April 2008 at 10:42 Wolves gave their play-off hunt a major boost with a 3-0 victory over Cardiff at Molineux on Tuesday.
They are now placed seventh, only two points short of sixth place in the Championship, and are 8/1 with Coral to get promotion to the Premiership at the end of the season.
Goals from Andy Keogh, Sylvan Ebanks-Blake and Michael Kightly saw off Cardiff and ended the Bluebird's play-off ambitions.
Manager Mick McCarthy spoke about his team's chances come the end of the season, saying: "We could win both our games and still not get into the play-offs. But it's there for someone to throw it away, it's happened before and it could happen again.
"The league is so topsy-turvy that I don't know what will happen come the last game of the season."
Wolves are currently two points behind Crystal Palace and travel to Coventry next weekend before finishing the season with a home game against Plymouth.
The Eagles are at 3/1 with bet365 to hold on to their play-off position and win the Wembley final to bring Premiership football to Selhurst Park next season.
