Title Race Hots Up After Chelsea Victory
Monday 28 April 2008 at 10:29 Chelsea moved level on points with Manchester United after their 2-1 victory at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
The two are now only separated by goal difference and Chelsea's odds have been cut to 9/4 with Ladbrokes to win the Premier League title.
A penalty from Michael Ballack won the game after Wayne Rooney had cancelled out Ballack's first-half header.
The German believes Manchester United are now feeling the pressure in the title race.
He said: "Manchester United still have everything in their hands but the pressure is on them. It looked like they were champions, but now it's getting smaller and tighter. Nobody expected Chelsea to be in this position now."
Ballack took over penalty-taking duty with Frank Lampard missing from the first-team and admitted after the game that he was "used to handling these situations."
The Blues' remaining games are away to Newcastle and at home to Bolton on the final day.
United, who face West Ham at Old Trafford before heading to Wigan for on the last day, are 1/3 with bet365 to retain their Premier League crown.
