Rocket All-square Against Qualifier
Wednesday 30 April 2008 at 09:57
Ronnie O'Sullivan remains favourite for the World Snooker Championship despite being held 4-4 in the first session of his quarter-final against qualifier Liang Wenbo.
Both players made century breaks during a session of the highest quality snooker, but that did little to persuade the bookies that the Rocket's title bid is in danger.
O'Sullivan is 2/9 at Ladbrokes to win the last eight tie and best-priced at 11/8 at Sportingbet to win the tournament.
Despite his early promise in the quarter-final, Liang is 7/2 at Betfred to progress to the last four and best-priced at 28/1 at Skybet to lift the Crucible title.
Second-favourite Stephen Maguire (5/2 at Stan James) is also level at 4-4 in his quarter-final against 40/1 outsider Joe Perry.
Stephen Hendry's bid for an eighth world title remains on track, as he leads Ryan Day 11-5 in their best of 25 frames match.
Another former champion Peter Ebdon is in trouble against Ali Carter and trails 9-7 after the Essex player scored a maximum 147 to take the 15th frame. Carter is now 2/5 with Boylesports to progress to the semi-finals.
