Confidence High In Godolphin Camp

Ibn Khaldun is capable of ending New Approach's unbeaten run and winning Saturday's 2000 Guineas at Newmarket, according to his owners and jockey.
The Godolphin colt is second favourite (9/2 with Stan James) for the season's first classic, having won the Racing Post Trophy at Doncaster last October.
Dewhurst Stakes victor New Approach occupies the favourite's spot (best-priced at 7/4 with Sportingbet) and Godolphin's racing manager Simon Crisford told the Times that status is justified.
However, Crisford is happy with the way Ibn Khaldun has performed on the gallops and believes he could be a genuine contender - if he can replicate that on the track.
"We know from Ibn Khaldun's best form last year that he has to improve. We think he has - but we don't know by how much," he explained.
Jockey Frankie Dettori told the Daily Telegraph he was pleased with what he saw from the colt over the winter, as well as during the three victories the pair managed last year.
Dettori, who won the 2000 Guineas on Mark of Esteem in 1996 and Island Sands in 1999, added that Ibn Khaldun is "fresh and well", but admitted that New Approach would be a tough opponent.
