Blues Take Title Race To The Wire
Tuesday 06 May 2008 at 11:10
PremiershipChelsea kept the Premier League title race alive with a hard-fought 2-0 win at Newcastle United on Monday.

Goals from Michael Ballack and Florent Malouda, combined with Newcastle captain Michael Owen's profligacy in front of goal, gave the Blues the victory they needed to draw level on points with Manchester United at the top of the table.

The champions have a huge goal difference advantage and must drop points at Wigan Athletic on the final day to give Chelsea a chance of taking the title.

United are best-priced at 1/5 with Paddy Power to retain their crown, while Chelsea can be backed at 10/3 with Skybet to win the championship back.

However, Blues boss Avram Grant insisted that Wigan are capable of upsetting the Red Devils.

"Now we must beat Bolton and see what United do. The pressure is on them," added Grant.

Chelsea are 1/6 with Skybet to win their last day clash with Bolton Wanderers at Stamford Bridge, while United, who have won all six of their previous encounters with Wigan, can be backed at 1/4 with Sportingbet to win at the JJB Stadium.ADNFCR-1141-ID-18580214-ADNFCR
