United Favourites Again
Tuesday 13 May 2008 at 09:29 Champions Manchester United have been installed as early favourites to win the Premier League title next season.
The Red Devils clinched a second consecutive title with a 2-0 win at Wigan Athletic last weekend and are best-priced at 6/5 with 888Sport to make it three in a row.
Bookmakers obviously expect the domination of the big four to continue, as Chelsea are 5/2 with Bet365, Arsenal 5/1 with Ladbrokes and Liverpool 8/1 with Betfred.
Outside the top teams, Tottenham are the shortest price at 80/1 with Betfred. Aston Villa are 150/1 with BlueSquare and Everton are available at 200/1 with Bet365.
Skybet are running a market without the big four and Spurs are 5/2 favourites, ahead of Aston Villa and Everton at 7/2.
Optimistic fans of promoted Stoke City can back their side at 7,500/1 with Bet365 to win their first ever top-flight title.
More realistic punters may note that the Potters are 2/5 favourites with Skybet to be relegated. However, Stoke are 9/4 with Boylesports to retain their Premier League status.
