Kranjcar Calls For Focus
Friday 16 May 2008 at 09:08 Portsmouth midfielder Niko Kranjcar has warned his team-mates they must forget about their recent form if they are to beat Cardiff City in the FA Cup final.
Wembley is developing into Kranjcar's lucky ground after he helped Croatia beat England and Pompey defeat West Brom there - and he is 8/1 favourite with Ladbrokes to be man of the match in Saturday's showpiece final.
For that to happen Portsmouth will almost certainly have to improve on the displays that saw them lose their last four Premier League games.
Kranjcar admitted to Setanta Sports News the players had been distracted by the final in recent weeks, adding: "The best thing is to go into the game and focus on our strengths, knowing that if we play the game we can play we should be the winners."
Portsmouth, who expect to welcome back David James and Sol Campbell after injury, are best-priced at 1/3 with VC Bet to lift the trophy and 4/5 with Bet365 to get the job done in 90 minutes.
Cardiff City - 5/2 with Boylesports to win the trophy - could have Robbie Fowler available after five months out with a hip injury.
Fowler has mixed memories of the FA Cup having been on the losing side in the infamous cream suit final and left out of the starting line-up for the Michael Owen final during his Liverpool days, but can be backed at 10/1 with Paddy Power to be the last goalscorer on Saturday.
