Strong Rumours Suggest Ince Is Next Blackburn Manager
Friday 20 June 2008 at 08:19
Paul Ince will be the next manager of Blackburn Rovers, according to the latest rumours.
It is being widely reported that Ince impressed the north-west club's owners the most with his application for the job, beating out other candidates including Sam Allardyce and Michael Laudrup.
Rovers have yet to say that a decision has been made, but many expect the announcement to be made in the next few days.
So strong are the rumours that the majority of betting shops have closed the book on who will get the job.
Punters can still place wagers on Betfair, however, where Ince is 4/13 and Allardyce and Laudrup are 11/1.
Ex-Bolton Wanderers and Newcastle United boss Allardyce was installed as the favourite for the position when Mark Hughes left to go to Manchester City several weeks ago.
But Ince's price has steadily shortened over time and he now looks set to take over at the top-flight club.
Blackburn are 1000/1 with SkyBet to win the Premier League next season and 14/1 at VC Bet to be relegated.
