Bookies Expect Macedonia V Scotland To Be Close
Friday 05 September 2008 at 09:22
A close contest is on the cards for the Macedonia v Scotland match on Saturday, that is if the latest odds from the bookmakers prove to be accurate.
Odds of 11/4 are available on Scotland to win by just one goal at Blue Square, while a one-goal victory for Macedonia is the second most likely outcome at 16/5 with Boylesports.
Scotland got off to a winning start for this week when their under-21 side defeated Slovenia 3-1 last night.
The victory followed a 3-0 win against Lithuania a fortnight ago and the senior side will no doubt be hoping they can replicate the youngsters' feat against Macedonia tomorrow.
In the outright betting market, Scotland are the slight favourites to come out on top, with Bet 365 offering odds of 13/8 on George Burley's side.
Macedonia are 2/1 to win at SkyBet, while punters can get 9/4 on a draw with Coral.
Burley suggested earlier this week that Kenny Miller could be the player to watch and claimed to be delighted that he appears to be in top form.
"Kenny has never let Scotland down and you know exactly what you are going to get," he remarked.
