Cesare Favourite For Lockinge
Friday 16 May 2008 at 09:09 Cesare and Haradasun will both feature in the 12-runner field for Saturday's Juddmonte Lockinge Stakes at Newbury.
The James Fanshawe-trained Cesare won a listed race at Ascot last month and that impressive performance has seen the seven-year-old installed as 7/2 favourite with Coral for the Lockinge.
Haradasun will be making his first appearance of the year after moving from Australia to Aidan O'Brien's Ballydoyle stables and can be backed at 4/1 with Coral, having won six of his 16 races.
Henry Cecil's unbeaten Phoenix Tower is 11/2 with Totesport to win his first race in group one company, while Peter Chapple-Hyam's Tariq, who won three times in six outings last year, can be backed at 6/1 with Skybet.
Godolphin trainer Saeed Bin Suroor warned not to underestimate Frankie Dettori's mount Creachadoir - 13/2 with William Hill - despite him only managing to finish eighth in the prestigious Dubai Duty Free at Nad El Sheba in March.
"We know that he disappointed badly out in Dubai, but we don't know why. All we can say is that he has come back well from there and we expect him to run a very big race," said Bin Suroor.
