Ronnie O'Sullivan remains favourite for the World Snooker Championship despite being held 4-4 in the first session of his quarter-final against qualifier Liang Wenbo.

Both players made century breaks during a session of the highest quality snooker, but that did little to persuade the bookies that the Rocket's title bid is in danger.

Fast Company will not run in Saturday's 2,000 Guineas at Newmarket, his owners have announced.

The colt, who finished second behind New Approach in last year's Dewhurst Stakes, had been expected to spearhead Godolphin's challenge for the Classic, but was pulled out following the results of a blood test.

Avram Grant will tonight attempt to do something Jose Mourinho could not manage and guide Chelsea to Champions League semi-final success against Liverpool.

The Blues are in control of the tie having drawn 1-1 at Anfield in the first leg and are best priced at 8/15 with William Hill to progress and set up a final meeting with Manchester United in Moscow.
