Hull City are the new favourites to win the Championship playoffs following their 2-0 semi-final first leg win at Watford on Sunday.

Veteran duo Nicky Barmby and Dean Windass found the target in the opening 23 minutes to secure a valuable advantage to take back to the KC Stadium for Wednesday's return leg.

Leeds United's hopes of reaching the League One playoff final have been boosted by the return to fitness of leading scorer Jermaine Beckford.

An ankle injury kept the 20-goal forward on the sidelines for the last four games of the league campaign, but he has been passed fit to face Carlisle United in the semi-final first leg at Elland Road on Monday.

Washington Irving's price for the Epsom Derby has drifted significantly after he was well beaten in the Derrinstown Stud Derby Trial at Leopardstown on Sunday.

The Dermot Weld-trained Casual Conquest won by six lengths from Aidan O'Brien's colt, with Kevin Prendergast's Moiqen a further length-and-a-half back in third.
