Alesha a near certainty For Strictly Come Dancing
|
Strictly Come Dancing
BBC 1 Saturday Evenings – 7.30
and Results Show Sunday 6.45
4/12/07
With Kelly Brook unfortunate withdrawal from the competition Alesha is left as almost a certainty to win the crown.
But hold on - is that guy from Eastenders finishing with a strong run? Could he get up on line and steal Alishas victory?
If you have backed Alisha at good odds earlier in the season then now might be the time to have a little saver on Matt. If you havent backed Alisha then shes probably too short a price for you now - why not have a little interest on Matt?
Back Matt D Angelo at 4/1 with Skybet
20/11/07
Alesha Dixon continued her dominance of this event last week with the highest score of the series when surprising herself and the judges by the quality of her waltz. Its starting to look now as if she will waltz away with the title!
If you agree there is still time to back the new queen of the dancefloor.
Back Alesha to win Strictly Come Dancing now at 4/6 with VC Bet
16/11/07
Alesha Dixon just missed out on topping the judges marks last week but she continues to catch the bookies eye and is now a best price 11/10 with Bet 365.
Kelly Brook (5/1 with Skybet) looks to have spoilt her chance as her training tantrums will not endear her to the voting public.
Matt DAngelo (5/1 with VC Bet) and Gethin Jones (6/1 with Coral) are next in the betting but neither convice as potential winners.
Alesha still looks a very strong favourite and could be odds on with all firms by this time next week so, if you are not already involved, take 11/10 with Bet 365.
Back Alesha to win Stritcly Come Dancing now at 11/10 with Bet 365

Its salsa time this week for Alesha and shes loving it. We could well see her odds shorten even further after she performs her favourite dance. This could be your last chance to get any sort of a price on Alesha winning strictly come dancing.
Back Alesha to win Stritcly Come Dancing now at 6/4 with William Hill
30/10/07
We hope you took our advice a couple of weeks ago and backed Alesha Dixon to win Strictly Come Dancing at 4/1- if not she still looks the dancer to be with, especially at 2/1 with Skybet.
Back Alesha to win Strictly Come Dancing at 2/1 with Skybet
Last weeks show saw Matt DAngelo continue to impress the judges and the voting audience and he has been a big springer in the market (now 4/1 with Totesport).
His price looks sure to shorten again as the competition narrows down and anyone holding a nice antepost voucher on Alesha or Kelly Brook (now 5/2 with VC Bet)might want to back Matt just in case his teenage supporters push him to the top of the dance class.

The betting for this years Strictly Come Dancing had quite a tight look to it last week with four of the ladies vyeing for favouritism at around the 4/1 mark. However, Alesha Dixon wowed judges and the voting audience last week and has begun to put some distance between herself and the other competitors. She is now a best priced 9/4 with Ladbrokes.
From the male perspective Matt DAngelo and Gethin Jones had good weeks and look sure to be around for some time to come. DAngelo is a best priced 7/1 with Betfred and Jones is 9/1 with Skybet.

Now that the first two shows have been and gone the betting for the programme has started to settle down and it seems to be indicating that we are looking at a female dominated market with four ladies vyeing for favouritism;
Alesha Dixon - 4/1 Coral
Kelly Brook - 4/1 VC Bet
Penny Lancaster - 9/2 Blue Square
Gabby Logan - 5/1 Bet 365
Penny Lancaster has made a dramatic move in the market after impressing the judges but that price cut may be an over reaction to one good week.
Gabby Logan has already been advised at 12/1 but there is a slight worry that she may come across as too competitive to the voting public.
Punters should be advised to invest in the other two ladies at the head of the market as almost certainly their prices will continue to shorten, with a slight preference for the ex-Mystique singer Alesha Dixon.
Back Alesha Dixon 3 points win at 4/1 with Coral
Back Kelly Brook 2 points win at 4/1 with VC Bet

Just when you thought it was safe to switch on the telly after Big Brother had finished, low and behold it’s time for another series of Strictly Come Dancing! The time has come to treat programmes like this as a potential to make some cash. So what are we looking for?
If we look at the previous winners of this programme, the US version, Dancing With The Stars, and the similar, Dancing On Ice, can we glean any nuggets of information that could help us to narrow down the field?
The first fact that appears is that no winner has been over the age of 37. This is probably due to the extensive training schedule that is required so a very good level of fitness is a must. So even if we extend the upper limit to 40 years old this would still exclude:
Brian Capron (Aged 60)
Stephanie Beacham (60)
Willie Thorne (53)
John Barnes (43)
Dominic Littlewood (42)
Many will argue that being a former sportsman John Barnes (initially quoted at 14/1 with Stan James) must have an excellent chance but anyone who has seen him playing in the Masters Football will know that he will have some work to do to find the required fitness level!
Five out of the six male winners of these events have been from a sports background so that would seem to go against the current high placing in the betting market of actor Matt Di Angelo and presenter Gethin Jones (initially quoted at 7/1 with Totesport).
The female winners are harder to narrow down with a model, a presenter and two actresses being successful. However, most have had a stage school background and would have a memory of what performing live and training for that event would entail.
Kelly Brook is well fancied by many (initially quoted at 7/1 with Bet 365) but she may find working with dancing lothario Brendan Cole too hot to handle so it may be best to leave her out of the equation as well.
From the competitors that are left I would suggest that the husband and wife competitors of Gabby and Kenny Logan represent a decent value punt.
Kenny Logan is a former Scottish International rugby player and will be no stranger to the discipline needed for the training. Also, the success in this field of other “big” men such as Kyran Bracken, Darren Gough and Matt Dawson should suggest that rugby players can have the required dexterity to manoeuvre successfully through the competition. A big bonus to Kenny is that his wife, Gabby, is competing and the BBC will undoubtedly play up the husband and wife rivalry which should engage the audience.
Gabby Logan does not fit the suggested background of coming from a stage school upbringing but even more encouraging is that she was an international gymnast until injury curtailed her career so will be as likely as any of the ladies to have the required stamina. Also, she was due to appear in the last series of Strictly Come Dancing but was banned from doing so by her then employers, ITV. She now works for the BBC and is free to compete and it would undoubtedly be good news for her new employers if she had a long run in this show.
