STEVEOCN's Tips

19th May 2024
19:10 PGA Championship

Nicolai Hojgaard

Top European

25 EW

The Dane won the DP World Tour Championship last year in Dubai to end what was a great year and he has shown his class again in 2024, most notably a runner up finish in the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines. 16th at The Masters last month, I fancy Nicolai Hojgaard flies under the radar and the Scandinavian finishes as one of the top Europeans at Valhalla this week.

Patrick Cantlay

Top American

25 EW

Tied 9th at last year’s PGA Championship and his best finish in this major was tied 3rd back in 2019. The world number eight was 4th at Riviera Country Club earlier this season and 11th at Pebble Beach. 3rd at the RBC Heritage and a solid week at the Wells Fargo heading to Valhalla, Patrick Cantlay could fly under the radar in Louisville and finish as the top American.

Rickie Fowler

Top American

25 EW

30th at The Masters and 18th at the RBC Heritage, Rickie made the cut last week at the Wells Fargo and I fancy he will be looking forward to this week at Valhalla. The American was tied 3rd here in the 2014 PGA Championship and I am siding with Fowler producing that sort of performance ten years on at the same venue.

Tony Finau

Top American

25 EW

Three top ten finishes in nine PGA Championship appearances and I fancy Tony Finau is coming in unnoticed this week. Second at Houston four starts ago and tied 12th at the RBC Heritage, I am siding with Valhalla being a perfect fit for the big hitting American and he can play his way into contention for a maiden major title.

Justin Rose

Top GB and Ireland

25 EW

The Englishman was on the European Ryder Cup team who were defeated at Valhalla and he finished as his sides top points scorer that week in Kentucky. Three top ten finishes and a 13th in his last four PGA Championship appearances, I fancy Justin Rose in the Top GB and Ireland market this week in Louisville.

21:45 PGA Championship

Max Homa

25 EW

The world number nine was tied third at The Masters and if truth be told he didn't do a lot wrong around Augusta National when right in contention. 8th last week at the Wells Fargo and 8th at Bay Hill, I fancy Max Homa is a major champion in the making. 13th in 2022 and I am siding with the American to join the upper echelons of the game with a major win at Valhalla.

Patrick Cantlay

25 EW

The world number eight was 4th at Riviera Country Club earlier this season and 11th at Pebble Beach. 3rd at the RBC Heritage and a solid week at the Wells Fargo Championship heading to Valhalla, Patrick Cantlay could fly under the radar with all the talk about Rory, Rahm and Brooks Koepka. Tied 9th at last years PGA Championship, his best finish in this major was tied 3rd in 2019 and I am siding with Patty Ice lifting the Wannamaker Trophy this week.

Sungjae Im

25 EW

Fourth last week at the Wells Fargo Championship and that was with a final round of 73. Sungjae Im won his previous start in Korea at the Woori Financial Group Championship and he was 12th a couple weeks before at the RBC Heritage. 17th in the 2021 PGA Championship, the Korean has finished runner up and 8th at Augusta and I fancy he looks an attractive each way price this week in Louisville.

Will Zalatoris

25 EW

The American will head to Kentucky quietly confident of a big week in the PGA Championship. 13th at Torrey Pines, 2nd at Riviera Country Club, 4th at Bay Hill and 9th at The Masters, Zalatoris was runner up two years ago in the PGA Championship and I fancy he goes one better this week at Valhalla.

19:15 Premier League Darts 2024

Gerwyn Price

50 WIN

The Welshman was beaten in the final of last years Premier League extravaganza by Michael van Gerwen and he is a ruthless matchplayer who will surely enjoy the new nightly format in this years league. I fancy Gerwyn Price will go all the way to the finals night and lift the Premier League crown.

Rob Cross

25 EW

Voltage got to the semi finals of the World Championship in January and he ended 2023 looking like he was back to his best. In 2019 the Englishman reached the final of the Premier League losing out to MVG and I fancy the new format can see Rob Cross go all the way to the finals night.
3rd January 2025
19:15 PDC World Championship 2025

Michael Smith

50 WIN

Michael Smith won the 2023 World Championship and after a quiet season by his standards leading up to his defence, I fancy we see Bully Boy bounce back in style this year at The Ally Pally. Runner up in 2022, I am siding with the St Helens man going all the way to lift the Sid Waddell Trophy for a second time.

Rob Cross

25 EW

Rob Cross was a beaten semi finalist twelve months ago at the Ally Pally in London and he is a former world champion lifting the Sid Waddell trophy back in 2018. The Englishman tends to produce his best towards the back end of the year at the Grand Slam and Worlds and I fancy Voltage can contend for a second PDC World Title.
