Magnus Carlsen is bookies favourite to win the upcoming Norway Chess 2024 tournament
Betting is now available on the Norway Chess 2024 tournament with five-time winner Magnus Carlsen the clear favourite at 1/2 to win the event which kicks off later this month.
The 12th edition of the Norway Chess tournament features six players that take part in a double round-robin tournament with 10 rounds of classical games.
Round 1 gets underway on May 29th with the final rounds taking place across the 6th and 7th June so we've got a good chunk of chess to enjoy in the coming weeks.
Bookmakers have Carlsen as the favourite to once again win the Norway Chess tournament with the Norwegian looking to do much better than last year's 6th place performance.
Norway Chess has Amageddon's as part of the format too with any players who draw having to play an Amageddon match afterwards to force a result.

Magnus Carlsen is the favourite to make amends from last year by winning the 2024 Norway Chess tournament with the latest betting odds making him the 1/2 favourite in the market. Carlsen finished 6th at last year's event and will be looking for a much better performance this time around to get back to winning ways.
Last year's winner Hikaru Nakamura is the second favourite in the betting odds
Hikaru Nakamura was the winner of last year's Norway Chess event with the American Grand Master winning the tournament by just half a point.
Nakamura overtook Fabiano Caruana on a thrilling final day of last year's tournament with Caruana having led ever since the first day.

This year's edition of Norway Chess will feature a Women's Tournament
As well as the Open Section of the Norway Chess tournament, this year will have the inaugural women-only version take place.
Bookies are not yet offering odds for this tournament, but it's Ju Wenjun who is the highest rated player going into the event.
Six players will go against each other at the event which takes place at 29 May to 7 June and they are:

- Koneru Humpy (India)
- Anna Muzychuk (Ukraine)
