Never So Brave

Daily Racing

200 WIN

Never So Brave was always travelling well on re-appearance at Thirsk and having raced just behind the front rank for much of the race, made smooth headway from 3f out and won readily. That was his first run for 274 days and he is sure to improve for the run. Clearly suited by this 7f trip, the form of his first 2 runs have been well franked subsequently and this one fits the bill of a ‘Group horse in a handicap’. His opening mark of 94 looks generous to say the least and he can take this before going on to better things.

Jayarebe

Daily Racing

100 WINNB

Jayarebe impressed the clock watchers when scoring on re-appearance at Newmarket. He raced with the pace throughout clocking quick fractions and stayed on the strongest up the hill to the line. This extra furlong should be within reach for him. The ground will be fine and again, he should be able to race fairly prominently and the track should suit this prominent racer. God’s Window has only raced on testing ground so has a bit to prove and while Aiden O’Brien’s record in the race speaks for itself, Capulet did look a little one-paced when behind Dragon’s Laugh at Chelsmford. At around 5/2, Jayarebe is the one to be on.

Deauville Legend

Daily Racing

100 WINNAP

Some disappointing sorts with points to prove for me. Point Lonsdale just about sets the standard but for me, he has yet to prove he stays 12f never mind 13.5f. Also, Ryan Moore was quoted to say he felt he didn’t handle the track in last year’s Huxley. Arrest was well held on re-appearance and not for the first time, he raced wide of the field. Also, he has shown his best form on soft ground which he will not get today. I think it is worth siding with Deauville Legend who will relish the ground which will be drying throughout the day. He has not been seen for 257 days but started last season after a 235day break when he was less than 3l behind Pyledriver in the Group 2 Hardwicke when not getting a clear run. He now sports blinkers after 1 run in cheekpieces and he is proven at the trip. His trainer has said he hopes he now has him back to the form he showed as a 3yo and if he has, he should resume his winning ways. At around 7/2, he is the Nap of the day.
